In September, we completed a project funded by the European Union under the 41st call of the Operational Program for the Environment. This project will ensure effective protection of our sheep flock against attacks from large predators. During the summer months, the sheep will be protected with electric mobile fences on the pastures. In the winter, during lambing and the rearing of lambs, the sheep will be safeguarded within a constructed permanent enclosure. The project also includes the acquisition of a shepherd dog, raised in a flock of sheep in Romania, which has genetic traits for protecting livestock from predators. The pastures are monitored by camera traps that inform us about any potential movements of predators in the area. The implementation was challenging, but we are very grateful for the opportunity to enhance the protection of our animals.
